Pedagogical project, 2013 - 2015

Pedagogical project with children of families seeking asylum in Mönchengladbach in partnership with Museum Abteiberg. I would conduct regular workshops with the children that included material experimentation as a form of drawing. There were public outcomes with the project including a durational drawing inside a public sculpture installed at Museum Abteiberg’s sculpture garden. There were successes and failures with this project, particularily with ideas of voyeurship and political instrumentalisation of the families immigration status which was further complicated by institutional funding requirements. I often reflect on this early project in my ongoing engagement with publics.
